Quick demo of Voila

Voila is a screen capture software from Global Delight which allows you to drag and drop multiple images onto another image to create a composite.

I thought I’d try and do up a demo image for this. The screen captures are of “Apps I wanted the most from the MacHeist 3 Bundle“.

It also allows you to skew and sheer an image, and you can see the effect on the image on the right in the composite below (click to view a larger version in a new browser session).

Apps I wanted the most from the MacHeist 3 Bundle

To my knowledge, no other screen grab apps for the Mac allows you to do composites like what I’ve just shown.

Unfortunately, Voila doesn’t save images in the sRGB color space. Skitch doesn’t either. In fact, the only application that does this (out of several I’ve tried) is LittleSnapper.

Well, I still haven’t made up my mind whether to go ahead and pay up for the MacHeist to get LittleSnapper, or Voila.

In terms of sheer features, Voila wins, but LittleSnapper pulls me in its direction with its cool looks, library-based management of captures, the ability to capture entire web pages, and nicer-looking text annotations out of the box.

    Hello David

First of all, thanks for writing about Voila.. The image you posted there shows the ability of Voila over any other screen capturing tools on the Mac platform. It also has other abilities to capture different shapes, add some cool annotations and effects before sharing it via FTP/ Mail/ Entourage/ Flickr etc. Keep hooked to Voila and you’d see some exciting updates coming your way.

    Warm Regards
    Team Voila

    Hi All

The next release of Voila would save images in sRGB as well.

    Regards
