			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p></p><p>One big disadvantage with the <a href="http://flyingmeat.com/acorn/">Acorn</a> image editing software is that it cannot open up RAW images such as NEF files from my <a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001ET5U92?ie=UTF8&#038;tag=mmj-20&#038;linkCode=as2&#038;camp=1789&#038;creative=390957&#038;creativeASIN=B001ET5U92">Nikon D90</a>.</p>
<p>What gives?</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve now downloaded <a href="http://www.pixelmator.com/">Pixelmator</a> and giving it a spin. At least Pixelmator opens up RAW files out of the box.</p>
<p>Just to be clear though, Pixelmator does not have RAW conversion options, but you&#8217;re allowed to perform on the RAW file all the kinds of edits that you could do on normal JPEG / JPG / TIFF / PNG images.</p>
